Next Stop... Round 12: Longines Global Champions Tour of Valkenswaard
As the fierce competition between the world’s leading showjumpers continues, from August the 26th to the 28th the tranquil town of Valkenswaard in southern Netherlands, the epicentre for equestrianism, will be the setting for the 12th leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour.
The five-star standards of this tour are upheld and exceeded in the state-of-the-art facilities at the Tops International Arena, produced by the president and founder of the Longines Global Champions Tour, Jan Tops. The impressive venue has been designed with the horses priorities at the forefront, and provides a whopping 125m by 85m sweeping grass arena, four further arenas, premium canter tracks, warm up arenas and over 500 world class stables.
Along with experiencing the most elite athletes battle it out individually and in teams to come out on top and be triumphant, tickets to this exquisite event also offer a shopping village to indulge in between the gripping action of the fixture, food and refreshments and entertainment areas for all of the family to enjoy.
Previous winners include Frank Schuttert (NED), Maikel Van Der Vlueten (FRA), Gregory Wathelet (BEL), Daniel Deusser (GER), Lorenzo De Luca (ITA) and Rolf Goran Bengston (SWE) - but who will take the title this year?
With just four rounds left to secure a place in the Super Grand Prix this November, riders are vying for their spot in the ultimate individual final showdown. With all roads on the 2022 Longines Global Champions Tour ultimately leading to the GC Prague Playoffs and the O2 Arena in the Czech Capital this November, all remaining legs of the tour will provide a nail-biting close to this year’s circuit.
