This stunning venue in the Swedish capital has a strong heritage in equestrian sport, having hosted the Olympic Games in 1912 and 1956, and will see home heroes and international stars battle for top honours in this inspiring city.
Alongside the main competitions of LGCT and GCL, Stockholm Horse Week will feature a thrilling festival of equestrian sport in close collaboration with the City of Stockholm to develop a sustainable world class event in the city. The concept of Stockholm Horse Week has a focus to inspire, broaden and create a celebration with the people around equestrian sport. In 2022 the focus lies on developing young talent, both horses and riders.
For the third time Stockholm, Sweden will take its place on the LGCT global circuit. Alongside the main competitions of LGCT and GCL, the concept of Stockholm Horse Week will run with a focus to inspire, broaden and create a celebration with the people around equestrian sport. A highlight of the event will be the Lövsta Future Challenge International U25 Jumping, where young talent will have the chance to shine on centre stage. The exciting partnership with Lövsta Future Challenge means the LFC Young Horses Final will also be held at LGCT Stockholm for the first time which will allow some of the best young 7-year-old Swedish horses to compete against International stars of the future.
Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, encompasses 14 islands and more than 50 bridges on an extensive Baltic Sea archipelago. The cobblestone streets and ochre-colored buildings of Gamla Stan (the old town) are home to the 13th-century Storkyrkan Cathedral, the Kungliga Slottet Royal Palace and the Nobel Museum, which focuses on the Nobel Prize. Ferries and sightseeing boats shuttle passengers between the islands.
Elite horses and riders in show jumping will attend the Longines Global Champions Tour of Stockholm at the city’s historic Olympic Stadium. The arena has a strong heritage in equestrian sport dating back over 100 years, including the Olympic Games in 1912 and 1956 and the World Equestrian Games in the summer of 1990.
