Competing for: Italy | From: Frankfurt | Age: 38 |
Emanuele’s passion for show jumping was the reason he started riding and his father loved horses. At age 15 he left his native Matera to move to Modena, and later Milan, Italy. Then in May 2005 he moved to Germany as it was easier to travel to competitions. He is an officer with Corpo Forestale dello Stato (The State Forestry Corps), a police force for the safeguard and development of forests, parks, protected natural areas and nature reserves in Italy.
The most memorable moment in his career was winning the Individual Silver medal at the Young Rider European Championship in 2007. His heroes are Jessica Kürten and Marcus Ehning, and he believes, "the sport of jumping requires unbridled passion and tireless effort, perhaps more than other sports". Emanuele describes GCT as “the best shows in the world”.
