Nicola Philippaerts is a Belgian show jumper with strong family roots in the sport. He is son of the Belgian show jumping star Ludo Philippaerts and his twin brother Olivier also show jumps at the top level.
Nicola was a very successful Pony, Junior and Young Rider, winning Junior European Bronze in 2010 and Young Rider European Gold in the Team and Individual event in 2011. His most memorable career moments so far is being part of the European team that won the team event at the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore and winning. Nicola represented Belgium in his first major senior championship at the 2011 Europeans. His ambition is to compete at an Olympic Games.
