The countdown is over—the Longines Global Champions Tour of Doha 2025 is here! As the first stage of the season, this opening leg sets the tone for what promises to be another thrilling year of world-class show jumping. Eight of the top ten riders from last season’s LGCT Championship standings have arrived in Doha, each strategically positioning themselves for a strong start and maximum points.
But it’s not just about the riders—Doha is playing host to an incredible lineup of equine talent. Last year’s LGCT Grand Prix of Doha-winning mare, Bonne Ammie, is back and ready to defend her title. Joining her are top contenders such as Toupie de la Roque, Napoli vh Nederassenthof, Dexter Fontenis Z, Coolio 42, Iron Dames My Prins, Mumbai, Messi van 't Ruytershof, and Coby 8.

A New Format to Ignite the Action
The 2025 season introduces a fresh format, with the GCL team competition now taking center stage on Day 1. This strategic shift ensures a high-energy start, setting the tone for an electrifying weekend of top-tier show jumping. The action-packed event reaches its climax with the LGCT Grand Prix of Doha on Saturday, 29 February, where riders will begin their quest for championship glory.
An Elite Lineup Ready for Battle
The Doha 2025 Riders List is out, and the competition is fierce. Eight of the top 10 riders from the 2024 LGCT Championship standings will be in action, including Christian Kukuk, Andreas Schou, and Edwina Tops-Alexander.
Defending GCL Champions and Doha 2024 winners, Cannes Stars powered by Iron Dames, return with their powerhouse trio: Sophie Hinners, Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann, and Sanne Thijssen. They’ll face off against strong contenders such as Pieter Devos, Niels Bruynseels, Zascha Nygaard Lill, and Philipp Weishaupt, as well as the formidable Madrid In Motion lineup of Eduardo Alvarez Aznar, Maikel van der Vleuten, and Kim Emmen.
